Anja – Brow Chakra

The brow chakra (known as Ajna) is located in the between the two eyebrows – in our “third eye” location. This chakra is symbolised by a lotus with two petals, and represented by the colour indigo. On a holistic level, this chakra governs a heightened level of intuition and spiritual connection (spiritual), neurological system (body), visual consciousness (mind) and emotional intelligence (emotion).

Signs of imbalance in this chakra include vision problems, colour blindness, issues with mental health, living in an illusion, fear of truth, inability to live in the present, significant debt, fundamental materialism, fear of one’s mortality, clouded mind, spiritual disconnection, inability to connect with higher self, nightmares, headaches/migraines, teeth grinding, and scattered mind/thoughts.

To balance your brow chakra, try visual meditation or intuitive work, having a session with a spiritual healer, engaging with a spiritual or religious organisation for the purpose of higher consciousness growth, practicing brain stimulating exercises like crosswords, enjoying a sound bath (Tibetan singing bowl therapy), or reading a book on spiritual/religious philosophy. Alternatively, to activate this chakra, you can use essential oils such jasmine and myrrh; apply a few drops of chosen essential oil in a carrier oil and massage on your brow chakra area.
